Special Effects

A realistically appearing, non-pigmented type of artificial blood, designed especially for use in film and television. Transparent Blood flows slowly, and the color of the dark version has been designed such that this blood effect, when viewed through the camera, simulates an almost perfectly real situation. The light version is designed for mixing, so as to achieve a fine coordination of colors. Transparent Blood is easy to clean from the skin with soap and warm water, or with the KRYOLAN product AquaCleans. It cannot be completely washed out of some textile fabrics

Instant Blood Powder allows you to realistically simulate the sudden appearance of bloody effects. One good example of applications is a bleeding wound on the stage, or in a film while the camera is running.
Application:
Instant Blood Powder should be applied thinly and uniformly to the required, dry section of the actor’s skin. It can be applied best by a powder puff or powder brush. Instant Blood Powder applied in this way is virtually invisible until this point in time. The object intended to inflict the simulated wound is then coated with a wet medium:  for example, diluted transparent jelly or glycerin diluted with water. This object is then placed in contact with the area of the skin covered with Instant Blood Powder. A trickle of artificial blood will then immediately appear, with the amount depending on the amount of moisture applied.
Instant Blood Powder is manufactured with soluble coloring matter and cannot be removed from textile fabrics. It can be removed from some surfaces only with difficulty. In order to prevent staining of the actor’s skin, Instant Blood Powder should be applied to skin that has been first provided with a protective shield of greasepaint.

Fresh Scratch is a fast-drying artificial blood preparation in 3 colors. It does not contain solvent. The dark version is outstandingly effective for simulating the scab on a wound. The light version can also be used for simulation of fresh wounds, since the dried Fresh Scratch preparation retains its shine, which allows the simulated wound to still look fresh. The third available color version actually simulates an unnatural appearance: an “old-oil effect.” This perfectly simulates oil-smeared skin.
Application:
Fresh Scratch is best applied with a stipple sponge or application spatula in typically effectively forms, and then allowed to dry. During the drying phase, the preparation should not be touched, since this will produce matte spots. After drying, Fresh Scratch will not stain upon contact. It can be completely removed from the skin with generous application of soap and warm water.

Tuplast is a product developed for the make-up artist for creation of especially realistic scars and other skin anomalies. Tuplast is based on a synthetic material that is also used in dental practice.
Application:
Tuplast is applied directly from the tube and can be easily shaped with a spatula after it has begun to dry. After Tuplast has completely dried, scars and other skin anomalies created with it are waterproof. They can be removed by being simply pulled off. Supracolor and Dermacolor are especially effective for making up Tuplast creations. Since Tuplast contains a strong component of acetone, be especially careful when using it near mucous membranes and eyes.
Available colors:  skin color and transparent
